The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Forensic Digital Evidence Investigator in the Police Department.

Under the supervision of the Investigations Lieutenant, the Forensic Digital Evidence Investigator performs functions related to the forensic recovery and analysis of digital multimedia evidence including cell phones, hard drives, vehicle infotainment systems, and surveillance video systems.  Duties include: recovery of forensic digital evidence from multimedia devices, forensic analysis of digital evidence, completion of comprehensive and detailed written reports of actions performed, provide testimony in criminal court proceedings, maintain and account for department issued equipment, and other duties related to the position as assigned. 

Requires a bachelor’s degree, Cellbrite certification, the minimum of one year of technical training and/or work in digital forensics, ability to qualify as a Computer Forensic Expert Witness in court, strong computer skills in Microsoft and Apple products, and strong technical knowledge of cell phones.  Experience in law enforcement is preferred.   
Requires possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a polygraph test, drug screen, and background check.
