Digital Forensic Analyst

Description: Under general supervision, the Digital Forensic Analyst performs the identification, collection, analysis and retention of digital evidence from criminal investigations. The position may perform entry level technical tasks of installing, implementing and maintaining computers and software that have multiple applications. The analyst may specialize in an area of technical expertise, such as data communications, hardware support, software support, forensic examinations and criminal investigations. The analyst provides technical guidance and assistance to investigators to prevent data and equipment damage. Additionally, the analyst provides training to law enforcement personnel on computer examination and investigative techniques. The analyst provides courtroom testimony relating to casework performed. Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. Equivalent Combination of education, training and experience in digital forensics may be substituted for degree. Training/ Experience in digital forensics. Preferred Qualifications: Experience creating forensic images and collecting data from mobile phones and computer hard drives, prior experience as a certified police officer, knowledge of investigative practices, and experience in investigations involving digital evidence and ability to effectively communicate in courtroom setting.
