JOB SUMMARY
Professional and highly visible position responsible for overseeing and facilitating the enhancement of whole agency cyber related capabilities and awareness. Responsible for leading and directing the Cyber Investigations Unit, which includes a law enforcement sergeant and multiple detectives who specialize in forensic processing of digital evidence and conducting major investigations, to include internet crimes against children and crimes involving cryptocurrency. Responsible to enhance agency cyber capabilities and awareness by implementing innovative training, developing strategic partnerships within the region and identifying and leveraging cutting edge technology and related investigative strategies. Responsible to coordinate with the agency I.T. section to collaboratively test, protect and secure agency I.T. infrastructure. Must work well in a team setting with other managers and supervisors to reach goals within given time frames. Must have strong interpersonal abilities to communicate technology related concepts as it relates to law enforcement investigations and agency related activities. Evaluates agency needs and requirements and strives to provide outstanding service to our agency members, citizens and external partners.
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES
5 years leadership experience and extensive knowledge of law enforcement investigations. PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in technology related field with five or more years of equivalent experience or BS in Computer Science with 10 years minimum of equivalent experience.
Valid Florida Driver’s License
MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
20/20 vision (corrected/uncorrected), ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted), ability to stand, kneel, twist, crouch, and stoop for extended periods of time, ability to work extended periods of time while wearing special equipment, ability to work shifts, ability to work in hazardous conditions.
