Course Description:

  • This course covers the processes and goals of cyber forensics investigations. Hands-on activities include using multiple reporting systems to initiate and provide on-going support for information security investigations relating to data privacy, incident management, data loss prevention, and digital forensics. Prerequisite: ITT-307.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.  Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

  • Masters (or higher) in Digital Forensics or Masters (or higher) in Computer Information Systems or Masters (or higher) in CyberSecurity or Masters (or higher) in a related field providing equivalent experience. All instructors must have 2-5 years experience in Microsoft and Linux operating systems; digital forensics techniques including the ability to demonstrate forensic data collection and analysis involving networks, storage, and memory; with the ability to setup/manage/troubleshoot multi-layered architectures in virtualized environments. Preference given to individuals with GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) or GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) and GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA) or Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE) -OR-  Bachelors (or higher) in Digital Forensics or Bachelors (or higher) in Computer Information Systems or Bachelors (or higher) in CyberSecurity or Bachelors (or higher) in a related field providing equivalent experience. AND posses at least one industry standard certification such as; GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) or GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) and GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA) or Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE). -OR- Bachelors in any field AND 10+ years of industry or instructional experience in Microsoft and Linux operating systems; digital forensics techniques including the ability to demonstrate forensic data collection and analysis involving networks, storage, and memory; with the ability to setup/manage/troubleshoot multi-layered architectures in virtualized environments. AND posses at least one industry standard certification such as; GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) or GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) and GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA) or Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE).
