Forensic Investigator – ICAC
Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, will provide computer forensic analysis and examination of digital media involving the sexual abuse of children seized as a result of Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigations. May work with the ICAC Investigators performing on-site preview examinations. Provide reports on all forensic examinations conducted and testify in court proceedings as necessary. Work with the ICAC Task Force staff regarding any related matters. May require some overnight travel and presentations to law enforcement and the public on occasion. Will also require attending numerous training seminars and certifying courses. Perform duties as requested by Chief Deputy Attorney General and/or supervisors.Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and three years’ experience conducting investigations or performing other law enforcement duties. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Must have above-average experience with computers, software and technology.Preferred Qualifications
At least two years of training and experience working with computer forensics. At least two years computer networking or related experience. At least two years of investigative experience as a South Carolina Class I certified law enforcement officer.
Training and experience working in the computer forensic field. Experience working with multiple law enforcement agencies. Computer forensic training and certification using products (i.e. Axiom, Griffeye, FTK, EnCase, X-Ways, Cellebrite, etc.). Good verbal and written skills. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be well-organized with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
