Assistant Professor of Digital Forensics

Methodist University is seeking candidates for a full-time, Instructor/Assistant Professor position, depending on qualifications, in the Department of Criminal Justice beginning August 2020.

The successful candidate will serve as an instructor or assistant professor in digital forensics and cyber security. Responsibilities will include teaching and advising, management of related technologies, development and instruction of online classes, as well as seeking grant opportunities. Topics to be taught include Digital and Mobile forensics, Data Recovery, Network Forensics and other Cyber Security courses. Candidate will also assist with supporting the program infrastructure and be willing to obtain additional vendor certifications as needed and also provide coaching for cyber security competition teams such as CyberPatriot and the National Cyber League.

In addition to the above requirement, other job responsibilities include: service to the institution, development of industry and government partnerships, enhancement of workforce development and career pathways. This position will also play an active role in outreach to K-12 schools.Qualifications

Qualifications: Doctoral/terminal degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, relevant practical work experience in the field of cybercrime investigations, cyber security and/or computer forensics desired. Candidates holding related industry certifications, as well a possessing a strong insight into the broad nature of cyber security discipline and related activities desired. Prior teaching and or training experience preferred.
